Is a conservatory too cold for Cosmos seeds?

They should be fine I always start mine in our unheated greenhouse.

Well they don't like frost..... How chilly is chilly?

Well obviously no frost, maybe goes down to 7c maybe, not colder than a greenhouse though. No heating in there and it’s big. We use an electric heater if in there during the winter for any length of time so most of day and night v cold in winter and spring.

Could you not start them indoors and move them into the conservatory once they are up? My flat doesn't have central heating and regularly drops below 10 degrees, seeds are just not liking it at all.

7C at night is more like April outside, so they should be fine.

Mine germinated fine in our cold conservatory, but I used a propagated lid to get them Started. They are now v leggy though so I think I started too soon!
