Where should we put the greenhouse

I'm in a quandary. Greenhouse should arrive in a month & we were planning to tuck it into the purple rectangle area which would be nicely tucked away but I'm wondering if we should put it where the car is across the back drive at the red rectangle which would get a good bit more sun.

We were planning to build a small planter wall across the drive so there's room for a car without having to look at it from this angle.

What would you do?! Thanks for any input, I'm terrible at making decisions!

Well we had the same choice of sites a year ago. It depends on how much time and what you want to do with it. We went for a more shaded area as it meant I didn't have to worry about it becoming a furnace in the summer and didn't have to put up shading. I also use mine alot for overwintering so it was less important. If I had lots of time spare I would have chosen the sunniest spot I could manage.

Mine is in full sun and it is a furnace in the summer - I have rigged up a curtain in fleece along the middle of the greenhouse to shade the tomatoes, on the shaded side of the gh, in sunny weather - this works well.
So try to avoid full sun in the middle of the day in the summer, if you can.

Thanks both, that's helpful though I'm still not sure what to do for the best- we're in NI so don't usually get anywhere near as hot as South of England. Also we've ordered auto opening vents if it's too warm which should help. I'm a childminder so should have time to tend things in the day if needed.

I'm in the South of Scotland so you wouldn't expect too much sun but it still gets very hot - but I think if you are around through the day that makes a difference. i have opening roof vents but when it's very hot also needs the door opened and I'm not always there to do that.
You can paint the windows or use blinds or similar (or my fleece dividing curtain Grin)
