Coffee granules

Good morning,
I end up with a lot of coffee granules and just wondering if it's ok to add them to the soil? Read that it was so did a lot last year but the leaves on one of my skimmias are looking very pale and a little sick so wondered if I should leave doing it this year?
Thanks Smile

Some people do I heard on Gardeners' Question Time that caffeine is a inhibitor of growth.

I think that they're better if composted, but added directly to the soil would make the soil acidic, which might be problematic

Oh dear!! Thanks for that!

You can use them to prevent snails/slugs) getting to your plants- they don’t like to crawl (do slugs crawl???) across them!!

Slugs have precisely the same mode of locomotion as snails. So if snails crawl, so do slugs. Big if as to whether snails crawl.
