What compost did you use when planting roses?

Homemade with plenty of banana peel, coffee grounds and eggshells – if you’ve not got any, just scatter those things around afterwards. Also well-rotted horse manure. And Mycorrhizal Fungi dug through the ground. Bone meal is also quite good as is menstrual blood if you use a Mooncup

Though I’ve had equal success just plonking roses in bog standard soil and making no improvements – you don’t want to make the earth around the roots TOO nutrient-rich otherwise the roots won’t go exploring any further, they’ll just stay near the good stuff.
