Does anyone know of a completely free plant identification app please?

If not, what's the best paid for one?

Remember that plantapps are simply working on matching pictures, not from any botanical or horticultural knowledge. Use the id as a starting point not a definitive answer. Look up the plant it suggests and ask yourself questions like Is this plant the same size as mine? Does it have same growth habit or it it a bush when mine is a creeper? Does it grow in my part of the world? Is it flowering at the right time? Is it likely? - if it’s a choice hard to grow horticultural rarity, then maybe not in the weedfilled neglected garden where you spotted it.

The camera function on the google app works very well for me, it’s not been wrong yet.

Trouble is, if you yourself don’t know what the plant is, how can you know that it’s got it wrong? Except by lots of double checking.

Of course, sorry I didn’t think I needed to say that because you already had.
