My Crown Imperials? Put them in last autumn, really hoping they come up!

Oh exciting! If it were my garden they’d have been eaten by a squirrel!

MrsBertBibby · 11/02/2022 13:55

I planted them deep, and I have two cats who are obsessed with catching squirrels, so hopefully, they survived!

I love it when things start to peek out at this time of year. Let us know how they go!

JamMakingWannaBe · 12/02/2022 08:01

I'd cut the end of a 2l plastic bottle and make a mini cloche for them.
It should protect them from pests and any late frosts.

update

It was not! It was a couple of eryngiums that did very badly last year.

But THIS must be one! 4/6 showing so far! Wahey!

That looks like a peony? I love spotting my perennials and bulbs emerging! Things I planted last year look a lot healthier this year, I guess their root systems have been growing over the winter.

Ifailed · 16/03/2022 07:05

Hope they are, but maybe next time mark where you put bulbs in so you can monitor they progress?

wishmyhousetidy · 16/03/2022 22:23

that is definitely an imperial. I grow them at work. 👍👍 good luck with them

MrsBertBibby · 29/03/2022 18:38

Dear God look at them now!

Just remembered to give them a feed.
