What is going on with this philodendron?

I bought this a little while ago and I’m not sure if something is eating it or what but the leaves are looking increasingly damaged.

Any ideas what’s going on? And what I can do about it?

Leaves distorted as they open are usually caused by the plant being underwatered for a short while, but the second photo looks like physical damage to me. Any small children or pets in the house?

Absolutely no messing with it @toppkatz- it just lives on the windowsill in the bathroom, out of harm’s way. I might have underwatered it…but it rarely dries out (I guess it’s quite temperate and humid in there).
