Peace lily flower

So not technically gardening

But

I have a indoor peace lily. It's approx 3 years old. Huge beautiful green leaves but not any flowers for two years now. Just before Christmas a stem started shooting from the very centre. It's now opening (albeit at a 90 degree angle which I assume is due to the weight of the thing).

When I say huge I'm talking the size of my palm.

Any ideas why so large and random?
Purely just curious.

I can't help with the why, but my peace lily seems to have one whopper like yours, then several small ones after and cycle between the two for no apparent reason. Enjoy it!

Thank you. I'm excited to see what he does next

No idea but my peace lilies always enjoy being split after a couple of years or so. Invariably they flower in the months after being divided so if you're looking for flowers, maybe give that a go?
