One of our front lawn trees is a hawthorn. It's not very upright because a former neighbour of ours reversed into it when it was young.

I like it; the only downside as far as I'm concerned is that the birds like it too. Which is great but not when they perform the dawn chorus near my bedroom window.Grin

One of our neighbours has a hawthorn which he's pruned beautifully, I'm a bit envious of it.

I m glad i finally found someone got hawthorn in front of their house. I love front garden trees but did not want invasive roots ones.

I have not thought about 🦅 I think i need to think about it too

A friend of mine has a named variety called Paul's Scarlet iirc, it's beautiful. I have a self seeded squatter in the corner. It's welcome to stay.

My street is lined with hawthorns - they are very beautiful trees.

Our front gardens are not big so the street trees are approx 7m from the houses and they cause no problems - even though we are on fairly solid clay. I believe the trees have been there as long as the houses - since the early 60s.

I also have a hawthorn in the back garden approx 4m from the house, which also causes no bother.
