HELP!!! Xmas present rhubarb crowns arrived

I've bought 3 rhubarb crowns in the post for my mother in law for Xmas
What shall I do to store them until the big day?
Or does she need to plant them ASAP?

If they're in plastic, puncture a hole or several in the bags so they don't get condensated. Is there any compost in the bag with them?
It's only a week, they've probably been in storage longer anyway.

I planted in a big raised bed in my own garden for now in the end. Fingers crossed.
Couldn't work out which way was up!

Should be fairly evident which way is up and root- the up probably has pale shoots on it

You sound like a great daughter in law. I’d love a gift like that!

Ha ha @AtlasPine she loves her garden and loves rhubarb so should be a shout for #toppresent this year!
