Raised bed

Hi all,

Newbie so please bear with me.

Got a (fairly newly) raised bed for growing vegetables next year, I'm planning on waiting until my crop of runner beans die off and then it'll be empty.

Does it need mulch applying to keep it happy over the winter?

Many thanks in anticipation.

mulch helps water retention in the soil and helps prevents waterborne diseases that are spread by splashback when overhead watering. other than that i dont know
