And how do I stop them and the slugs that are in the soil?

Earwigs. One bit or pincered me once. I wish I hadn't looked at the picture!

Yeah, just blasted the stems with a spray of fairy liquid with water and then a spray of half white vinegar and water. Hope that works and I can just do that every day or two.
