Help with newly laid lawn turf

Hi all desperately looking for some help

We had a small patch of turf laid about 2 weeks ago and have followed all the after care instructions of watering daily and not walking on it at all we've kept a sprinkler in place and turn it on for about 20 mins a day if it's not been raining.

On the day it was laid there were 2 rolls which had beautiful luscious green grass compared to the rest. The reason for thisi was told was due to the rolls being cut at different times but that it should all look the same in a few weeks.

My husband has been obsessing over how green these rolls are and became impatient for things to even out. Last night he added lawn feed to apparently help plump out the sparse areas and this morning we've noticed depressions and almost as if the grass has wilted/died.

I've done a quick Google search which says apparently lawn feed has weedkiller in it too, could that be killing the grass?is there any way to revive/salvage it?

Thanks

Feed can also burn grass, if not watered in immediately. Especially if it's nitrogen heavy as year round feeds tend to be (nitrogen, applied correctly, feeds foliage so makes grass greener).

Lawn is pretty resilient so I wouldn't try to 'fix' this latest thing. Instead, continue to keep it most, but not water logged. Try not to walk on it too much and be patient. Just accept it might look a but uneven for a few weeks yet.

By spring it will all have come good and be an even green.

Thanks so much! It's looking quite bare and the grass looks like it's turning brown so will just leave it for now and hope it evens out

Just make sure you water enough and then leave it. We had new lawn laid last year, sometimes it looks lovely , other times it’s not great but it always recovers.

20 mins a day is not enough. I would do at least 30 mins 2 x a day in this weather.
