Star Jasmine

I'm looking for a climber to grown up an obelisk in my garden and wondered whether evergreen star jasmine would be suitable?
I've never grown jasmine before so not sure if it'll be any good. Soil is loam, and planning to plant it in a West facing border so gets plenty of sun. Preferably after an evergreen, fully hardy climber to cover the obelisk and add some height to the border.
Any other ideas?

I'm in the NW and don't think it would survive, although I could be wrong. If you're further south it should be ok.

We are in the South, but this will be our first winter in this house so not sure if its prone to frosts etc yet.. maybe I'll try something hardier but not sure what else could work.

Star jasmine is wonderful at covering structures like trellis, pergolas and the like. It is very fast growing but the flowers and the scent more than make up for it. It can spread a lot but providing you keep trimming the long tendrils that creep along the base you should be OK
