Dwarf Hydrangea recommendations NOT BLUE

Looking to plant three dwarf hydrangeas in a newly dug bed, ideally all similar height but contrasting colours.
Love anything from white through to deep purple but blue is RIGHT OUT.
Simply cannot abide a blue hydrangea.

the colour is due to the acidity in the soil.

In strongly acid soil (pH below 6), flowers turn blue. In alkaline soil (pH above 7), flowers turn pink or even red. In slightly acid or neutral soil (pH 6 to 7), blooms may be purple or a mix of blue and pink on a single shrub.

Are you sure of the pH of your soil? I think that's what determines the colour of hydrangea flowers. You could plant a pink one and find it turns blue, as one of mine did...

There’s a gorgeous little one called ‘Switch’, v small, starts white and changes colour (no blue!). I got mine at Dobbies so I guess it’s in most nurseries. It even has its own website 😄 www.hydrangea-switch.com/en/

Yeah it depends on the soil, if your garden soil will make them blue you need to put them in a pot with the pH soil you want and keep an eye on it there.

Garden (thankfully) has an alkaline soul as all current (standard size) hydrangeas are all lovely creams, pinks and purples with no hateful blue in sight.

That plant has more fun than me 😆

It’s really time to revaluate your life when a pot plant has a lifestyle you can only aspire to.

God damn you dwarf hydrangea switch.
