WTF is wrong with this?!

Awful at gardening but what on earth is wrong with my rhododendron? I am awful at gardening and have kept this plant lovely (it flowered flowered few months ago) but now it looks like this!!!
What is it and what can I do to save it?

Hmmm, is it scorched? Is it in full sun? And has it been watered in the day when the sun's out?

It also looks like something has been eating it. Have you looked underneath the leaves for any clues?

Has it had a feed this year?

It does look scorched, and the leaf holes may have been caused by the Rhododendron weevil, which chews holes around the leaf edges.

Ooooh thanks everyone, how can I get rid of the weevil? Haha! It is in sunlight but I have another one the other side of the door that this hasn't happened to. 🤷‍♀️

Rhododendrons are generally woodland edge type plants, ie dappled shade rather than full sun. If you can get it growing healthily it will shrug off weevil attack, and unless you squish them individually, you won’t get rid of the weevils without killing a lot of beneficial insects.

Thanks, I might move it somewhere else in the garden. Should I just carry on watering it as normal then?
