Why does it always rain on (me) my day off?!?

Seriously!!!!

IT’S AUGUST!!!!!

I have such limited down time from work. The garden is looking all a bit wild and woolly, the grass needs cutting, lots of things need dead heading and pruning and tidying and tieing in. I know a few hours out there would have it looking beautiful and have my oasis back again…..

But the sky is actually grey and the rain is heavy and vertical and no sign of letting up. Even going out in waterproofs wouldn’t really work the rain is too heavy.

IN AUGUST!!!!

AIBU to just give up today before it’s started and spend the day in bed watching old Monty Don shows on YouTube?

Yes I know this is not AIBU.

Grr. Stupid rain.

I was going to sow lettuce and pak choi and pull up bolted spinach and resow today but I won't because it's raining. There is no room in my greenhouse to comfortably do it. All I will be doing is watering the tomatoes and mooch about the house doing one if my grand tidy ups. I'm an ace procrastinator so even that may go by the wayside.

I find June is hit or miss and August a washout. I book my holidays in July and am pretty lucky with the weather. Although I was off last month when the heat was unbearable and spent my time indoors sweating by a fan. I didn't get any of my grand plans done then either.

I wouldn’t mind a bit of mizzle I could potter around in.
Rain so far today is so bad my dog has refused to go out for a wee even when I tried to physically put him out the patio door!

It’s relentless.

I guess I should focus on the house and not just moping though.

At the moment it seems to be raining hard both on days off and work days. I am in the south east and this summer has been lousy. I think those in other parts of the UK have had better weather.

It always does rain in August.

Spring is now our dry season.
