Climbing rose help

Hi! I have been given some beautiful climbing roses. I'm just not sure where to put them in my garden. Would they work/grow horizontally along a fence-line, with support?

Or could they grow up a house, from a large pot?

Tia

Lucky you! Do you know how big they grow? What their names are?

Ha! That might be helpful information. One is called Cinderella, a gorgeous droopy pale pink rose. I will have to go out and check the other. I understand that they are both climbing roses.

Well I’m no expert but want a climbing rose for an arch so had a thread easily.

My understanding is that in the ground is better than a pot but I know some roses are ok in a pot (sorry not helpful!)

I do know that horizontal along a fence/ wires Is ideal as you get more flowering stems if you grow the main stems horizontally.

Someone who knows more will be along soon!

Check out this Paul Zimmerman video and it explains the horizontal thing really well
