It's maybe a cm to a cm and a half long at most

Rat I suspect ☹️

Hedgehog poo is 2-3 cams long, tapers to a point at one end, dark colour.

Oh bugger! It's only in one corner and the first time I've ever seen any in my garden. It wasn't there the day before yesterday and has only appeared next to three elephant hawk moths that have also only just appeared in a fushia pot.
Tbh I've no idea what any wild animal poo looks like other than mice and rabbits so was just guessing.

Oh well never mind...

As you have mentioned the elephant hawk moth i think it could be their caterpillar poo.

Pinkstars2501 · 05/08/2021 18:47

I thought that when I googled it actually. But I thought I'd sound silly saying that... Thankyou

Yes, it is! That wonderful shape as if it’s been squeezed through an icing nozzle. I raised a couple of caterpillars through pupation to emerging as moths, and I was quite blown away by the poo. Mainly the shape, but also the size.
