What should I plant?

I’ve got a bed I’d like to plant up. Starting from scratch. It’s 5m x 1.5m. West facing, quite heavy soil, lots of sun, lots of wind. I don’t want anything too tall as it’s in front of a window so 2.5m height.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Day lilies, Lavender, salvias, roses, Veronica, bulbs for spring and Autumn, and fill in gaps with summer annuals.

I've just plan e a really salvia called 'African skies', it's lovely and the bees and going potty for it!

I too have heavy soil so have chucked some hort grit in the hole and put it at the back of the border where the soil level is a little higher

Thanks Mary. I tried adding a photo, but it’s not uploaded. I’ve put 4 salvias in. I can’t remember what they’re called, but the bees are already on them!
