Greenhouse advice purchasing new one

Just getting garden redone after building work and finally have space for a greenhouse. We are going to be here 10 years or so.

Options where I live are very limited due to delivery costs, I’m on an island. Max size I can have is 12 x 6.

I could get a Halls 10 x 6 with Toughened glass and low races for about £1200 inc delivery. Can’t get this one any bigger.

Or

A 10 x 12 with toughened glass Robinson’s with high eaves for about £4K including delivery.

So do I go bigger with more height or. Will 8 not miss the extra space and height.

I have a Robinsons, 14 x 10. It’s been up for 30 years and is still in perfect condition. And not big enough Grin I run out of space when I’m raising seeds, when I have it full of veg, and especially in the autumn when tomatoes and cucumbers are still going but I need to start bringing stuff in to overwinter. You will miss the extra space and height.

14 x 10 oh in my dreams! Previous greenhouse was in an odd corner and lean to and very tall. I liked the airiness of it.

I’ll second getting the biggest you can. We have double sliding doors on ours, so we can get the wheelbarrow in. Good for moving compost and clearing old tomato plants. Also the larger doors give better ventilation in hot weather. Automatic vents are also a good idea.
Toughened glass is an essential, especially if you have little ones around. In a recent heavy hailstorm many locals had their greenhouses smashed because they only had horticultural glass.

Like Mere, I also have two Robinsons, 24 x 8 and 16 x 6, they are arguably the best you can buy, so that would be my choice!

Definitely get the bigger one.
