Help! Need suggestions to replace an acer - it is the right suet if size but the position is too sunny and exposed for it I think...Need something that will be able to grow to at least 3ft-4ft high to cover up bad patch repair of render Confused Not a climber. Ideally evergreen but not crucial.

Oleander!

Bay - not that interesting but evergreen. Bamboo? Amalenchir? A hydrangea paniculata (some are tolerant of lots of sunshine)? Viburnum? Rose?

Olive?

Mimosa/acacia dealbata, if you live in a mild weather area.
Mine is growing at a very fast rate. I bought it a less than 2ft high 2 years ago, now its about 7ft high. I've hacked whole branches off it and it sprouts more very quickly. It has interesting foliage and beautiful bright yellow pompom flowers in early spring.

I would go for Choysia or a camelia

whatisthisinhere · 30/07/2021 15:41

Definitely a Camellia. I'm looking to buy a Camellia Sasanqua for a pot

Holly is tough. Maybe also some tall grass

Oh thanks everyone, that's great, off to google pics.

Figs like sun and love being root bound so good for a pot; not evergreen though but you get fruit!
