Is it worth digging up my gladioli?

I planted about 20 bulbs (admittedly very late - mid May) and they are about a foot tall but don't seem to have grown much recently.

I'm moving house this week and had planned to dig them up and take them with me (for the flowers this year, I'm not fussed about keeping the bulbs)

Do you think they will flower? It's nearly August and no sign of anything yet. I'm very new to gardening but thought most things would be flowering now if they were going to!

Am I wasting my time digging them up? I could just leave them behind and buy bedding plants to fill the space in my pot for the new house.

Dig them up and put them in a pot. I would then keep them in the pot until the winter as they may not like a second transplant. May is fine for planting gladioli.
