Pumpkin plants

I grew some pumpkin plants from seed and planted two of them out in a very large container.

They are now huge! I stuck canes in and they did throw out their shooty things but now one is kind of laying on the ground. Is this ok, should I tie them up? Trouble is they grow daily . I didnt think they would grow this big

They usually sprawl. They're scramblers, not climbers, in other words, instead of climbing strongly up any support vertically to the canopy, they prefer to scramble over lower plants, getting more support from them.

Probably one, not two, in a very large container would have been better - they're greedy plants. But they have to be to be able to produce a fruit that big.

pumpkins get huge and they can climb too.
I would just gently guide them where you want it to go (or don't want it to go rather).
