Good fast growing privacy trees?

Our garden is a fair size but we live next to a field that is full of brambles and isn't very sightly. Ideally we'd like to plant large privacy trees all along this side and something that grows fairly quick. We just don't want to have to look at it. What's the best type to get? Thankyou

How big do you want the trees to be? Some fast growing trees can get very very tall. My next door neighbours have a lovely silver birch but it's quite a bit taller than their house and looks a bit worrying in the wind. We're both end of terrace and the gardens aren't huge otherwise it wouldn't be a worry. It's constantly full of little birds which is nice (blue tits, coal tits, gold finches).

Alder trees are fast growing and are supposed to improve soil quality which is great if you want to underplant it with flowers.

I'd buy some bigger trees from somewhere like Barcham, rather than just go for any old thing

Why not plant a hedge with some semi mature trees dotted within it.

I would look at Barcham tree’s website. It is like an encyclopaedia and they are very happy to answer any questions and give advice if you email them.

They are mega-bucks but obviously you don’t have to buy from the .
