Ach for goodness sake, of course it is, I knew that but had forgotten...
It's in my Dad's garden and hadn't bloomed for a few years until I hacked back at all the overgrown shrubs a couple of years ago.

Some sort of hypericum? Difficult to tell on my phone.

Thanks so much for your help which has brought me to think it's Hypericum Cyathiflorum as it grows very tall like my Dad's.
