What to do with mud bath under trampoline?

I wonder if anyone else has solved this problem? Trampoline has been situated here for a year or so and we knew it would kill the grass. But now it's just looks like wasteland, are there any neat ways to tidy it up? Perhaps wood chip? Or fill in the sides with planters so we can't see the bare earth? Any ideas welcome!!

The trick is to move it to a slightly different spot every time you mow, that way you never get a patch of mud. Shift it slightly & throw some grass seed down maybe?

Thanks, we did try that but there is only one place it can sensibly go, as it's a massive trampoline and we have an average sized garden.

A friend had this problem too, she cut a piece of artificial grass to fill the space underneath and then used rolls of bamboo like matting to surround the outside to make a den underneath. It’s a good space to lie and play when it’s hot!

We have bamboo screening around the base of ours, it looks really smart.

Ahhh! These ideas would work well, just mentioning it to the kids and they love the sound of a den. Thank you.

It will also stop the dogs peeing under it Confused

I have planted woodland plants underneath our trampoline which look lovely if you like a wilder look. Things that naturally grow with little light, as some light does still filter through even though the grass dies. We have sweet woodruff which has spread really well, ferns, wild garlic and wood anemones.

What a lovely idea! I'll look into this, thank you!
