Chiminea -yey or ney?

My husband has just bought me a B&Q Chiminea for my birthday. I'd not asked for it and feel very ungrateful but I'm thinking it's not good for the environment. He's bought some smokeless wood which claims to be ok for the environment but I have no experience of these. Would you return it if you're worried about polluting the environment and upsetting your neighbours?

Yes. I would return it.

MonkeyPuddle · 25/06/2021 18:23

I’d hate it. They stink.

If you have neighbours close to you them yes, return it.

Very antisocial.

Better than a fire pit - at least the smoke goes up not out. Depends how close your neighbours are

Whatwouldnanado · 25/06/2021 18:27

Definitely a no. Our neighbours have one and even with smokeless log things it smells disgusting.

Thanks for helpful replies. It was £50 and should we keep I'd use tomorrow as friends coming over. DH seemed pissed off with me this evening when I said I may have to return it. It's a semi with long but not especially wide gardens. Any smoke would be too much imo. DH wouldn't think about neighbours but he's not a garden person. I love being outside so I know his present came from wanting to make me happy so feel quite bad rejecting it.
