Can anyone please tell me what plant this is please? It didn't come with a label, I just bought it on a whim and I'd like to find out something about it and maybe find another.

I think it’s an ostepspermum aka African daisy?

cctvrec · 24/06/2021 19:30

That's the one, thanks so much.

It’s not Osteospermum, it’s what is now known as Senetti (used to be called Cineraria). They are tender, clump-forming perennials, and not hardy, so won’t survive winter outside.

Thanks @NanTheWiser the leaves do match the Senetti. The Flowers match the African daisy too from what I find online but looking closer the leaves do differ.

Yes, Nan is right. I’d noticed the leaves but couldn’t remember the name

Didn’t know about the name change. It seems what we knew as cineraria was a hybrid of two Canary Islands species. Then advances in taxonomy meant the genus name Cineraria was restricted to the S African species, with the Canary Is species being transferred to Pericallis. Senetti is simply a trade name for a particular strain of Pericallis hybrids
