Pear Rust

I have a little pear tree only a year old. However i have recently been noticing little orange dots on it. After doing a quick google, i wonder if it's pear rust. I attached a photo? Does anyone else know?

If so, does anyone have advice on how to deal with it?

Yes, it’s pear rust. Read somewhere that it doesn’t significantly affect the health, so apart from removing badly affected leaves (which yours aren’t) I try to be relaxed about it.

Otherwise, just aim for good health - no water stress, free air circulation, not hemmed in by other plants

Both of our pear trees develop rust as the season progresses, but it doesn't seem to affect fruit production or general health, so we just ignore it.

Pear rust has an odd life cycle, it switches between the pear tree and junipers, which can be worse affected and lose whole branches and permanently disfigure it. So if you have any juniper bushes in your garden (or a neighbour who grows bonsai trees whose collection of valuable junipers could be decimated), then please treat the rust on your pear tree and if it is in a container, please don't keep it next to the fence if your neighbour has junipers.
