Any recommendations for a tool to cut high branches of a Laurel ? Can't reach quite high enough with choppers we have. I saw someone recently in their front garden using some really extendable ones but can't find similar online. I should have asked her !

Search online for 'tree loppers' as that is possibly what you want.

If you want to get some help then I want recommended to check some tool, like you can use chainsaw and tools reviews to cut right way. I hope you will find right tool.

I've got some Wilkinson Sword telescopic loppers I find good for reaching quite high. The length of the handle to the 'jaw' is about 55cm retracted, 85cm fully extended.

I think anything longer would be quite hard to work with above the head - the weight matters to their usability but they do need to be strong.

If loppers aren't long enough, the next level up is this sort of telescopic pole pruner - I've never used one myself.

mine came from Morrisons last summer for £8 and they are great!

That might be going on my Xmas wish list - there's not much I can't reach with my loppers (a much appreciated birthday gift from DH) but there's a few things too high but not worth getting someone in for. I think I'd want a hard hat to go with it.
