I think they are geraniums? How best can I propagate them? And should I do it now?

Many thanks!

Did you remember to attach a photo? (They sometimes take a few minutes to upload so it may just be slow to appear. )

Yes, they're geraniums.Smile I've got some very like those two.

The only way I've ever propagated geraniums is simply by digging out some of the roots and planting elsewhere. The one on the right will probably have a flush of flowers now, then you can cut it back hard and may get a second flush - so it might be possible to divide after cutting back though might be safer to wait till autumn.

The other, if it's one of the the types I think it is (Ann Folkard or Ann Thompson) climbs if it has support and can flower all season, so I wouldn't try dividing that till autumn.

The can be grown from seed, so you could try collecting those and planting them straight in the ground. I've got one in my garden that's appeared this year which seems to be a hybrid cross between two existing plants because the petals are a different colour to either of them.

Thanks. My mum gave me the purple one as a manky root in a plastic bag so it's thrived from that!!
