It flowers with small white daisies. Pretty but officially I think it's a weed .

OhRene · 13/06/2021 11:24

It's only a weed if you don't like it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Knittedfairies · 13/06/2021 11:29

It looks like feverfew.

Beebumble2 · 13/06/2021 11:40

Yes Ferverfew, my Granny called it Batchelor’s buttons. Don’t know why.
I like it dotted around. It spreads by seeds, so if you don’t want any more after flowering nip it out.

My dfil always said whether it is a weed or not, if it is pretty and you like it keep it. I tend to follow that rule.

TowandaForever · 13/06/2021 13:01

Thankyou. Will wait until it flowers and then decide if it stays or goes. .

It's quite pretty, and doesn't seed itself about too much.

I can't really see the leaves clearly enough to be sure it's feverfew, but the leaves of feverfew are quite strongly smelling when you crush them, in a sort of medicinal eucalyptusy way.

officially I think it's a weed There isn't an official designation of "weed", apart from the 5 plants named in the Injurious Weeds Act of 1959. A weed is just a plant growing uninvited where you don't want it. So your "weed" may be someone else's cherished plant.
