Best ‘airy’ geums?

I have lady stratheden which is exactly what I am after, a dense, low mound of foliage then tall airy flowers already but I need a different colour.

I don’t want a compact one, it has to be one with tall stems that swish in the wind and need staking as it’s going with verbena bonariensis and a neat compact one will look out of place.

Suggestions please?

I have a lovely orange one, called Totally Tangerine, which is nice and tall. Loads of flowers, lots of buds on every stem, it's outperforming Lady Stratheden and Mrs Bradshaw.

I don't know why geums aren't more popular, I think they're a lovely plant and really easy.

Sorry, meant to add:

Although I realise that orange and the purple of verbena bonariensis sounds like a hellish combination, anyone who's seen the orange cannas and verbena bonariensis at Great Dixter will know that it's a combination that can look amazing!

Totally tangerine is lovely and airy and tall. I grow it with alliums and verbena bonaseiris as above. It looks great.

Scarlet Tempest fits the bill.

Agree - great ground cover and mine has flowered from March to November, just never gives up.

Mai Tai? It's my favourite, a less zingly option than Totally Tangerine (which is lovely, but very bright).

TheDiddlyGang · 07/06/2021 15:03

Mai tai is a short cultivar I believe?
I’m looking for a taller one, 50cm or more.

It’s a lovely colour but DH and me love colour so the brighter and more vivid the better!

Ah ok, yes it is shorter than TT.
