Question about honeysuckle

I have started growing some honeysuckle in two pots while I was waiting for the flowerbed by the back fence to be prepared by DH (I have back issues and struggle to dig our heavy clay soil). The honeysuckle is taking off well and I am wondering when the best time to move it from the pot into the ground would be?

For what it's worth the variety I have is suited to clay soil and if necessary I can dig out the bed and load it with compost/manure etc. But I really don't want to kill it with my enthusiastic but clueless gardening!

It would take an event of spectacular proportions to kill a honeysuckle, they are big bullies, but very beautiful. Go for it.

I also have clay soil, and several honeysuckles. The one which is in the clayeyest part of the garden has taken longer to establish but this year (3 years after it went in) it has finally taken off. I planted it around this time of year. I'd recommend giving it a good thick mulch to help it keep moist as it establishes and to make sure it has enough space without competition initially.
