They're going out!

.... tomatoes, runner beans and various plants that are growing like triffids and quite a challenge to take out and in every day. Let's hope the warmer weather continues for a while! Lots to do this weekend :)

Mine are still on the dining table and practically my height. I’ve held out long enough, this weekend is it! They’ll have some protection from the 5000 Diet Coke bottles I’ve managed to accumulate while waiting for the rain to bog off so they should be well buttressed.

I'm bedding plants only. My mum has always said end of May. However over the last 8 years or so I've gone for a couple of weeks earlier. This year we've had so many late frosts I have delayed. But I'm planning on this weekend. It's on the calendar. Fingers crossed for mine and yours 😉

How's everyone getting on?

I planted out my tomatoes and runner beans yesterday, and have loads more stuff to go out. I had to clear a bed, transplanting some lettuce seedlings and moving some garlic (almost but not quite ready) then to build a frame with some stakes for the tomatoes, so quite a mission but quite satisfying.

Long may the good weather continue!

I’ve planted most of my toms out now and am having a nice sit down . Some are looking a bit floppy but fingers crossed. I’ve trussed them (every year I wave it away as unnecessary and then need to do it when they’re a metre high and flopping over, so this is huge progress). Still to do a few more toms and a pumpkin at DD’s request. Then send DH to wee out here to keep the foxes from digging the whole lot up.
