This is in my Mum's garden and she's too impatient to let it flower to find out! Any ideas please?

Looks like it could be Knautia Macedonian. Others will be along shortly with other ideas.

Get an app called PictureThis. It's free for a few identifications a week.

I don't know what that is, but I'd say be very wary of any of the apps. There have been some spectacularly wrong identifications on these threads thanks to apps - trees being identified as tiny alpine plants and vice versa!

It's horseweed, I had a similar thread last year and after a few months of careful watering, being treated for vine weevils, and even plant food it turned out to be a bloody weed!
