New plants & puppy

I've just had 3 borders built and have planted some lovely plants including 2 rose bushes and a sweet William but the bloody puppy has chewed off almost half of the sweet William and 1 of the rose bushes.

I'm trying to keep him off the borders but it's nice to be able to keep the back door open as I'm working from home and he can come and go for a play.

What can i use to protect my plants from anymore damage?

TIA

My parents used those little metal mini fence panels - about 60cm high and wide that you just push into the soil wherever you want them - to keep their puppy off the beds.

I’ve got a rather industrial looking chicken wire and old broom handle fence blocking off one of my borders from my puppy Smile but I wouldn’t leave him outside anyway tbh. 20 years ago my first every puppy spent a week at the vets at 10 weeks old because I’d left him in the garden while I went to the loo and he ate something which made him really ill. I don’t take my eyes off my current pup for a moment, they are sneaky buggers!

I'm going to get mesh cover and hope that keeps him off.
