Is there a current allotment thread. I'm new to it.. potato question

I've planted some early potatoes my new allotment. The rest of it still needs a lot of weeding and clearing and I have two young children so can only do a little at a time.

Anyway, potatoes are in, we piled up the soil in mountains with a space between each, about a shoes length. I roughly followed the packet instructions although my 4 year helped.

Just seeing so many other plots doing it differently, some just closer together than mine. But my neighbour who has lots of potato plants with leaves above the ground and no mountains, just growing on the flat bed.

I have had a few leaves poke through, but covered them again with soil. Should I let them poke through now? They've been in about 3 weeks, but there is still frosts at night . I'm confused about the earthing up business going forward.

Hi, you should continue to earth up, but that doesn't mean completely burying the plant all the time. It should grow to about 8" tall before you do it again.

@Hollyhocksarenotmessy ok great, I assumed at some point the leaves need the light 😄 Do I still covered the leaves at the moment? I think frosts are still predicted to be happening at night here until end of April.
