How to remove spiders nest in shed?

Lsquiggles · 21/04/2021 15:22

Just found a spiders nest in my shed and want to find out the best way to get rid! Can anyone recommend a spray/product that I can use to kill anything inside the nest/shed before removing it? Very concerned loads of spiders are going to burst out if I touch it Confused

Firstly, are you sure it's a spider's nest?

Secondly, spiders are really good for the garden, they eat insect pests and some will themselves be taken by birds and fed to their chicks. Just leave it alone, they will hatch and disperse. They are so small at first you can barely see them anyway.

Burn down the shed....?!

vodkaredbullgirl · 21/04/2021 15:35

I, 3rd the burning of the shed

BookShop · 21/04/2021 15:37

Just leave it? They will hatch and move on.

Mumdiva99 · 21/04/2021 15:38

I use the broom handle - and yes baby spiders do sometimes burst out the nest.

  1. Get flamethrower
  2. Use flamethrower
  3. Burn garage to ground
  4. Drink gin in the glowing hollowed out embers after it cools
sugarhockeyicedtea · 21/04/2021 15:44

Oops

5.Make sure it's the shed and not the garage

  1. Although there are probably spiders there too.
  2. Repeat
isthismylifenow · 21/04/2021 15:47

Geez I don't get all the dramatics.

Just leave them be, they will move on out of there.

MaryIsA · 21/04/2021 15:49

Just leave it?

Or ask someone else to move it with a mop head or something similar.

They'll move out pretty quickly when hatched.

EvilPea · 21/04/2021 15:54

Leave it. They do you no harm.

They won’t be there long before they leave ... or eat each other and your left with a few king spiders who will keep all the pests down in the shed.

If we don’t look after the little things our planet is fucked. Anything you use will kill everything, so bees, butterfly’s, lady birds etc.

MrsBertBibby · 21/04/2021 15:54

Leave them to hatch! Good Lord.

stopchewingeverything · 21/04/2021 16:01

Either burn down the shed as other sensible posters have suggested or move house.

FictionalCharacter · 21/04/2021 16:06

Leave them alone! Spiders are harmless and eat pests. Why do people want to burn the poor creatures to death?

senua · 21/04/2021 17:31

Leave them alone!
I leave spiders alone when they leave me alone. But when they invade my space then the gloves are off.
They have a whole planet to inhabit, why pick my house/shed? Grr.

Attack it with a broom or dustpan brush, OP.

MereDintofPandiculation · 22/04/2021 08:59

They have a whole planet to inhabit, why pick my house/shed? Grr. They possibly feel the same about you

Because some Inconsiderate human built a house on her great great great great great (you get the picture) grandmothers home.
Thefirsttime · 23/04/2021 10:19

Why on Earth do you need to remove it? Just leave it.

I have no idea. I really don’t understand the irrational behaviour and dramatics people have about spiders.
vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 23/04/2021 10:24

Poor wee spiders.

How do you feel about flies? Cos if you get rid of all the spiders you'll be left with all the bluebottles.

bellsbuss · 23/04/2021 10:24

Burn it to the ground

ThisIsSimplyBeyond · 23/04/2021 10:33

I hate spiders and would probably never go in the shed again, but I wouldn't burn it/remove it/whatever. Poor (horrible, leggy) thing has every right to be there.
