We bought a fairly well grown Fatsia Japonica for a corner of our garden which backs onto another garden to gain some privacy. This is planted underneath another tree so is pretty much full shade at all times which the lady at the garden said this would be perfectly suitable for. We've had this for about a month now and in all honesty I'm worried it is dying. We water it daily but have a look at the photos and you will see it looks really sad. All help and advice welcome please! I'm an absolute novice gardener so am pretty clueless. As you can imagine the plant wasn't cheap to buy so I really want to save it.
Thank you!!!

Maybe those tender new shoots got frosted? We’ve had some frosty mornings all week (don’t know where you are - I’m in the southeast), and it could just be frost damage. I would keep an eye on it for now, and hopefully it will recover.

I can't see there's anything wrong with it!

EscapeDragon · 18/04/2021 17:32

I agree with @NanTheWiser - it looks like frost damage.

Ah it has been a little frosty here in the mornings (midlands). Can they recover from frost damage? Is there anything i can do to help it along?

as well as water, give it some fertilizer occasionally. standard Gro-more

with a big plant like that, it may spend the first year or two in your garden growing roots (i.e. getting established) and it will look like not much is happening. but once it gets going, it will be fine.
