This shrub is taking over our small front garden and I have no idea what it is. Can anyone help please? Thanks in advance!

It’s not something I grow, but it looks rather like Choisya Aztec Pearl

Ah, one of those apps suggested Choisya to me but we've never had one with leaves like this before so I wasn't sure. Thank you Smile

It will smell absolutely beautiful so do keep it. It will survive harsh cutting back when it's not flowering, we've had a couple of them for years and have cut them back to bare stems just a few inches tall before now.

I will Smile It's just that I wanted to know when to prune it and I can see it's about to flower. On the RHS site, it says it flowers again in autumn. Do you think I could give it a hard prune when it finishes flowering now and it would come back for the autumn? I look forward to the fragrance! Thank you.

Aztec Pearl is famous in horticultural circles for its finer leaves - it’s a much prettier plant (I think) than other varieties such as Sundance!

Mine doesn't flower twice, we've had two of them for 10 years, rather it just keeps on going and going....and going.

Ooh crikey, when do you get to prune it back then?

Late august usually as i tidy the garden then.

Aztec Pearl is a hybrid between the usual Choisya ternata and C dumosa which has up to 13 narrow leaflets

Thanks all for your replies. I look forward to seeing it flower then and will wait a while to prune it back Smile
