This is a shrub growing in a neighbours overgrown garden. Does anyone have any idea what it is?

Looks like viburnum

momofone69 · 16/04/2021 00:24

The second photo is buddleja

EugenesAxe · 16/04/2021 00:24

Second looks like a lilac. The flowers smell amazing if so.

NineOClockOnASaturday · 16/04/2021 00:26

I can’t see clearly, but think the second one is more likely to be lilac

EugenesAxe · 16/04/2021 00:33

I think the leaves look too heart-shaped for buddleia; they are more tapered usually. They are very similar though. Both plants have clusters of four-lobed flowers, but the lilac's flower lobes are deeper and bigger, I'd say.

First is viburnum, second is a lilac

MrsBertBibby · 16/04/2021 08:13

Lilac.

HasaDigaEebowai · 16/04/2021 08:24

It's not a clear photo but lilac. Its too early for buddleia to be in flower and the leaves are wrong

Beebumble2 · 16/04/2021 08:48

Definitely Lilac.

MereDintofPandiculation · 16/04/2021 10:59

Viburnum definitely, V. tinus I think. and one of the lilacs. As hasa says, too early for buddleia, which flowers on this year's wood and hasn't have the time to grow it yet, and the leaves are right for lilac.
