Found of a blog post about shady gardens. The little perfect looking fir type tree on the left...

I have one very similar if not identical. I’ll have a look in the morning for you as it has a tag on.

@MaryIsA I’m sure it’s the same as the one we have - it has bare branches and little pom poms of long pine needles at the ends. Photos attached.

It looks like Western White Pine or a relative.

It looks like pinus palustris, a long-needle pine, and it wouldn't stay that size for long. Their ultimate height is up to 35 metres so not really suitable for a small garden.

Might I suggest a pinus mugo instead? They are relatively easy to find at most garden centres.

@yamadori thank you. The Pinus Mugo looks like a good shout. Looking for somethign smallish and sculptural to pair with a couple of acers.
