I’m out because my first answer was, no, it’s definitely not weed 😂

Purplecatshopaholic · 05/04/2021 15:00

If you want it, then no. If you don’t want it, then it’s a weed..

I concur. Sorry op can't help.
BaronessBomburst · 05/04/2021 15:02

It's a weed. Has little white flowers, then little red berries that look like stunted strawberries. No idea what it's called but I get it every year too.

MHA65 · 05/04/2021 15:04

Possibly a deadnettle??

Yep me too 😂
Beebumble2 · 05/04/2021 15:24

I think it’s deadnettle as well.

MightyMeerkat · 05/04/2021 15:39

Thank you. I've just googled deadnettle and I think you're right. I've pulled it up. I have enough weeds already!

@BaronessBomburst

You’re describing a wild strawberry.,,.

BaronessBomburst · 05/04/2021 16:27

I've often wondered that......Grin

OhShitShit · 05/04/2021 18:51

@BaronessBomburst

Haha! Oh good! Well they are edible (if you’re sure that’s what they are)- there’s just not an awful lot of point to them.

I leave them for the mice

Gatekeeper · 05/04/2021 18:53

Looks like honesty leaves

LiveintheNow · 05/04/2021 18:55

I second that it looks like honesty, white or purple flowers, pretty white seed heads later

MereDintofPandiculation · 06/04/2021 08:40

Honesty doesn’t have runners. Not wild strawberry either, wrong leaves.

It’s something in the dead nettle/mintfamily, which includes things like Agastache and Salvia and Latium. But I think it’s actually dead nettle. It’s only a weed if you don’t want it there (which apparently you don’t). One person’s cherished plant is another person’s weed
