Hi all, would appreciate some advice. I am still a bit of a novice at all this! I have a large shady spot in my back garden which only gets a small amount of late afternoon sun. What are the best shrubs to plant there, please?

I am by no means an expert but in our semi shady spots we have roses, hostas and hydrangeas and they have all done well. I'm really shady spots I have ferns and hostas.
I just googled it and I got quite a few good suggestions

Fuchsias are okay with shade too.

Oh, that's a good one, thanks.

Camellias grow brilliantly in shade, and they're coming into flower right now. They do like a specialist compost tho, (ericaceous).

I love camellias, thanks GeidiPrimes

I second camellias! We have a north-facing garden but I don’t mind because camellias are my favourite plant. I’ve got loads and they’re so happy. Bluebells are good too.
