I’d finally like to do something with a stretch of what is currently wasteland in my garden. It’s a mass of weeds with a slight ridge down the middle, probably 4m x 8m, front path along one side and boundary hedge along the other. I’d like to create a bed along the path to plant with lavender and re-seed the rest to lawn.
I’m unsure as to whether I should turn it over and level the ridge first, then weed kill it, or weed kill first. Rest of the lawn grows like mad although it doesn’t have the shade that this side does from the hedge. It does make me wonder if it looks like this because of the hedge but I’d like to try.
Could anyone give me an idiots guide? I assume Spring would be the right time to do this? I grow veg quite successfully but have actually never grown grass!
