Can someone iD this plant for me?

Moved into a new house and it’s in the front garden.

A Pieris?

I'm not sure, but I used the app picture this when I couldn't ID a plant! You just take a picture of it and it tells you.

I think it might be a rhododendron rather than a Pieris. OP, are there some fat buds on the ends of the branches? If so, it’s prob a rhody. Pieris forms pink or red coloured bracts rather than big flower buds.

Looks like a very beautiful pieris is to me. Love the shape it has formed itself into.

It could be good for Pieris - that rather yellow colour is typical of when the bright red new leaves (not bracts) are morphing into green mature leaves. In that case I'd expect to be seeing clusters of dangling white bell flowers.

On the other hand the bark looks good for a rhododendron.

It tells you that the picture of your plant looks like a picture of another plant. It's a starting place, not an answer. On MN I've seen a plant app misidentify a 4ft shrub as a ground hugging creeper, it's quite happy to announce confidently to you that what you are looking at in Northumbria is a plant of the tropics, or your spring flower is a plant that flower only in the autumn.

No there are no buds on it.

Can you zoom in on the leaves. It does look like a pieris. One of mine is in flower, the other has nothing yet.

And the red leaves are stunning when they apppear.

It’s my favourite plant. I’ve got 4 which is greedy and one with pink flowers too!

It’s a lovely plant and suits the Asian kind of theme that I like! I might get more.
