Hi, I’m terrible at anything green but have just bought a grown-up house with a grown-up garden and am endeavouring to do it justice (ie paying a gardener to keep it tidy while I learn!).

I need something to go in pots by the front door to look pretty.

It’s north-facing, and I have two 27cm pots so not huge. Something hard to kill and nice to look at!

Can anyone offer a suggestion? Thanks!

Pansies are long lasting and very hard to kill.

Thank you! Will they manage north facing?

Geraniums. There are many different varieties with some that cope fine with shade. They can be very forgiving if you forget to water them and don’t mind being neglected.
I would go for a hardy annual like Rozanne as it is fast growing and long flowering.

Pansies are fine north facing.
