Fake grass?

Hi all,

We live in a townhouse with a very small garden. We have a bit of lawn, but literally I can mow it in about 2 mins. We recently got a puppy who has started to eat holes in it, plus the kids trample through to get to the shared green so it is getting a muddy path up the middle.

We also have a decent sized patio and large flower bed which I keep nice.

I have swithered for years about getting a fake one as it just looks rubbish. I have seen some that look pretty convincing.

Pros and cons? Anyone done it and regretted it? We have a slight hill so would the soil underneath wash away?

Plenty of environmental cons - unnecessary use of plastic and all that entails, removal of habitat - OK your tiny bit doesn't make much difference, but so many people are doing it that cumulatively it does make a difference.

If your puppy is trying to eat holes in the real lawn, will he try to do the same with the artificial one?

Muddy path will resolve itself over the next few weeks.
